Levensbeschouwingen in perspectief
Zonder een ultiem doel in beeld te brengen schildert hij fasen in de reis van een willekeurig leven dat hem fascineert. Peter schildert uitsluitend in olie. Vooral omdat hij met olieverf de glazige filtratie kan benutten voor het zichtbaar en voelbaar maken van de magie van licht. Van Straten is geboren in 1972 in Johannesburg, Zuid Afrika. Bij zijn afstuderen werd hij beloond met de prestigieuze Sanlam Student Art Award. Hij wordt exclusief vertegenwoordigd in de Benelux door The Obsession of Art.
